The 2020 Audelco Awards nominated the play Reparations for 8 awards, that was produced at The Billie Holiday Theater in Brooklyn. The play, written by James Sheldon, was the winner of the Best Play award, as well as winner of 5 additional awards:
· Best Play of the Year – The Billie Holiday Theatre
· Best Director – Michele Shay
· Best Lead Actor – Kamal Bolden
· Best Featured Actor – Lisa Arrindell
· Best Set Design – Isabel and Moriah Curley-Clay
· Best Sound Design – David Wright
The AUDELCO (Audience Development Committee, Inc.) is an organization that acknowledges and honors Black Theatre and its artists in New York City. Established and incorporated in 1973 by Vivian Robinson (1926-1996), to stimulate interest in and support of performing arts in black communities.
